Great Moments with Duncan...Posted by the Mrs.

1) As Duncan and I were sitting here looking through our past blog posts, we came across the pictures from Brooke and Tyler's wedding.  I asked him what building was in the background and he said, "Temple!".  I reminded him of our trip there last week (which he loved, especially because he got to ride a train there and back).  Then we started singing "I love to see the Temple".  This is how it went,

"I love to see the Temple,
I'm going...
(he pauses and I'm waiting in anticipation for him to finish the sentence)...downstairs."


2) Bobby and I have been trying to study Preach My Gospel together in the morning before we get our day started.  Even if we can hear that Duncan is awake through the monitor, we let him hang out while we finish up our reading.  One particular morning, Duncan was pretty antsy to get out of bed.  Bobby went and got him and we had him just play on the floor with his cars while we looked up the scripture that went along with the topic.  The topic we were reading about that morning was the sacrament.  Bobby started reading the sacrament prayers found in D&C and as he began reading I caught Duncan out of the corner of my eye. He had put his cars down on the floor and preceded to put his arms up and crossed them over his eyes.  I nudged Bobby to check it out, Duncan had recognized the sacrament prayer verses from Sacrament meeting and thought it appropriate to fold his arms and bow his head.  Talk about a rewarding moment, to know that this little two year old boy was absorbing what the sacrament prayers sound like. 

This little boy brings so much joy to our lives and helps us to realize the simple pleasures in life...we are excited to double the joy in just a few months!

Whoops!! 95% sure isn't QUITE 100% - Posted by the Mrs.

  It seems like now more than ever, we have had so many plans and ideas that have taken different turns than we anticipated.  For instance, if you asked us a month ago if we were going to buy a house or not we would have said for sure, "We are buying.".  Though, at this very moment, Bobby is currently en route to Sacramento to find us the perfect little house to RENT.  This decision was made clear to us just this past week and it feels so good to finally know what direction is right for us (Yay for answers to prayers).  Well, for the past two weeks we have been planning on something else having to do with our baby.  But as is the theme for our lives right now goes, just when we think we know what's going to happen we get a SURPRISE result in the end.  This surprise just so happens to be...

A BOY!!!!!

  It's true!  They did a "For Fun" ultrasound at 18 weeks just to find out the gender (done by the doctor).  I went today to have the official 20 week ultrasound (done by the ultrasound tech) where she did measurements, checked on on the vital organs, and confirmed my due date. 

  I do feel bad that my friend in Pittsburgh already sent us her darling little gift which will have to wait until we really do have our girl!  

"Sorry Chels!  I can send it back if you want!"

Just goes to show that even with a 95% chance of something...there is always that 5% that still has a chance!

Now to focus on baby boy names!

And yay for still being able to say, "My boys!" 

I do LOVE to say that.
