Are we halfway through July already?! June Happenings in a nutshell - posted by the Mrs.

June was a crazy month and FLEW by so fast.  I think because we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to get utilities switched, insurance set up...(still working on that one), cars registered, driver's license's switched, and the list goes on.  Man, it's a lot of work to move to a new state.

This is Duncan at his work station.  Paying bills and surfing the net on his old school laptop.

The mouse is truly vintage right?!  I knew my pack-rat habits would payoff eventually.

We needed to go back to the church on this particular Sunday for our "meet the bishop" interview.  Duncan's nap got all skeewampus because he fell asleep in sacrament meeting...3 hours before his usual nap time.  Hence the meltdown.
 I love that he is wearing his tie, church shoes and socks with a t-shirt and shorts.

Sad boy no more!  There's flour to play with!

This is Duncan's new bed and sheets.

This is proof that he actually started sleeping in it...til he stopped.

Strawberry Jam...the best thing since honey butter to go on top of homemade bread.

Duncan absolutely loves to help in the kitchen.  Any chance he can get to dump ingredients or press a button!  I have found that I actually love his help and am in the kitchen more because I love his company.  It's a win-win situation really.

I'm always on the lookout for fun things to keep Duncan learning and having fun.  These are water beads that swell up over time to the size of small bouncy balls.

Can you see how those beads overtook this tupperware bin?!  They were quite interesting to play with if I do say so myself.

Of course we also celebrated Father's Day.  We gave Bobby some Strawberry Nesquik which he LOVES and made a few movie tributes for him to watch that summed up his life so far as an amazing and awesome father.

Duncan the spider saver...Posted by the Mrs

So, as of late, we have had quite our share in bug encounters.

Just to name a few...

Maggots...
in our wheat grain bucket.

SOOOO

DISGUSTING!


Then Flies!...thanks to those Maggots.
Yes, by the end of one day, I had counted over 30 of them.
That is on the mend however, thank goodness!


Finally,
we have lots of little spiders that run up the walls and just hang out all the time.
Tiny spiders I can do.
Wiggly nasty maggots and so many flies you start to feel like your going crazy?...not so much.


The other day, we were hanging out after dinner in the family room and Duncan spotted a spider on the wall. I came up to him to take a look and Duncan literally yelled out,
"Don't shoot it!!!"
(please keep in mind we don't often 'shoot' bugs at our house...or anything for that matter)
Then Duncan gets up close to the spider and says,
"How's goin'?"
After a second of close observation the spider decides he's done chit-chatting and starts to book it.
Duncan's reaction?

' SPLAT '
His hand went up and finished off the spider without a second thought.

Bobby and I thought the whole thing was pretty funny to sit back and watch.
This boy is always making us smile...well, almost always :)

Crazy May - posted by the Mr.

We thought we'd get caught up on our blogging for May, so that we only have to be behind for one month instead of three, so here is our May.

We went to antelope island with Dean and the Lynch's and had a great time hiking, looking at the bison, and having lunch by the beach.

 Here we are on our scenic hike to the top of mount whatever (we didn't actually make it to the top, but it was a good place to take a picture and turn around).

 Here is Duncan in classic cheeseball fashion on our train trip to temple square.

 If you ever want to make a little boy happy, just put him on a train.

 We also took a trip to San Diego with the Rich's, we weren't able to be there the whole time since we had just moved when they had left, but we met them halfway through the trip and were able to enjoy time with the family before we started our California Adventure (not affiliated with Disney California Adventure).

 Here is Duncan with cousin Olivia just making a cute funny face.

 Corbin and Coby got trapped in a bubble.

 We had a lot of fun making some big bubbles, and if your wondering what the secret ingredient for good bubbles is, it's corn syrup.

 Duncan and Jaden running for the bubble.  I think this was mine, I'd like to think it won the furthest distance award.

We had some time to make it out to the beach, and get some sand and sun time.

Duncan was a little hesitant at first to play in the sand at first, and he certainly didn't like the ocean, but he came around and by the end, he loved playing in the sand.
