Duncan's Photo Shoot - posted by the Mrs.

Our cute friend that did our pregnancy pictures wanted to take some pictures of Duncan. She has a great talent for photography and captured some darling shots of our little man. We're setting the bar pretty high here for all the rest of our unborn babes, we'll have to do photo shoots for them all or else they'll feel jipped. That's OK though, it's hard to get enough of babies and they don't stay this small forever so bring on the photo shoots!

One Month Birthday!! - posted by the Mrs.

Today we are celebrating one whole month with our little monkey! I can't believe it has passed so quickly. We went out to lunch with Bobby's mom or as she is more affectionately known to her grand kids as "Honey". We ate at the Corner Cafe that just opened up about a block from us. We all had some very tasty Paninis and to celebrate the special occasion for Duncan, we had a tasty banana flavored 'Baby Bundt Cake'.

We sure do love this little boy. Happy Birthday Duncan!!

I thought I would share more of the details of February 10th that some were requesting and post some more pics as well. I found it ironic that the last post I did before Duncan arrived was the day before my water broke and I mentioned in the post that we didn't have a baby yet but that I felt it was "coming up quite soon"! That was also the day I really worked on doing some freezer dinners as well, good thing I did!

On Tuesday February 9th, I was planning on running some errands in Sandy and then attending a Young Women's Presidency dinner/meeting. On my way out to the car to head to Sandy I ran into the Young Women's President in our ward and we chatted for a bit. We parted knowing that we would catch up more at the dinner later that evening. I got to Sandy and stopped at a few stores and got some things and then stopped at the Babies R' Us in the Family Center to check something out really quick. I was in and out withing 5 minutes. When I got to my car I noticed a Highlander parked kitty corner from me. It was now dark outside but it seemed to me that the lady in the car looked a lot like my mother-in-law. I had a blonde moment and couldn't remember if they had a blue Highlander or a white one like the one parked by me. I felt silly not being able to remember and it bugged me because the more I squinted at this lady the more I thought she resembled Bobby's mom. I couldn't just walk over to the car and get a better look, that would freak the person out! So I did the safe thing and drove away. But I did call my mother-in-law on my way to my next destination...ROSS, just around the corner. I still needed to pass some time before the dinner. Joanne picked up her phone and I instantly asked her where she was, "I'm not home if that's where you're headed" she replied. "I'm sitting in the parking lot of Babies R' Us waiting for Jim to meet me here so we can do some shopping". It was her!!! I told her I was just around the corner and had preceded to tell her the story. We said good-bye and I went into Ross. I was feeling large and frumpy so I figured a good cure would be to browse the maternity clothes and maybe buy me something new to wear. I wondered to the back of the store where all the cute baby stuff was. I had not been in the baby section for longer than 5 seconds when I heard a faint "pop" and suddenly realized a small gush of water!!! A nightmare come true right?! I panicked and instantly searched around the store visually for a bathroom. I quickly discovered that Ross does not have bathrooms and headed for the exit door avoiding all the main aisles. I remember hoping that nobody inside Ross thought I was shoplifting because I needed to leave fast and could not be delayed!! On my way out the door I dialed up Bobby. When he answered I told him that I thought my water had broke. "WHAT?!" was all I heard back. I raced over to the car but didn't get inside. Bobby and I figured out our plan and I hurried and called Joanne. I had just been talking to her ten minutes ago, now I was calling to tell her what happened. As soon as I told her she and Jim were in the car and on their way over to get me, what a blessing. I think I was partly in denial and didn't really think my water had broke. We got to the hospital and by the time I met up with Bobby at the labor and delivery desk where he was filling out the paperwork my pants were SOAKED!! Denial was out of the question at that point. I felt like I was four years old! The nurses all said with big smiles on their faces that I was in good company. From there it all seemed like a dream, partly because we were up ALL night and partly because it caught us off gaurd. This is how it all went:

8:00 - check in at the hospital

10:30 - the anesthesiologist comes in and says he needs to do the epidural now because he has a surgery to do. Ptosin follows the epidural.
Side Note: I'm freaking out with every needle and stick they gave me, so much so that I was involuntarily shaking pretty bad through it all.

2:30 - they give me an oxygen mask because the baby was showing signs of stress?...I think that's why. I was kind of out of it.

5:30 - we have a bouncing baby boy weighing in at 6 lb 6 oz and 20 inches long. He had a head of hair and beautiful little alert eyes.
I was so excited to meet this baby that I only could feel existed. I had seen pictures of him on ultrasound pictures but it was still hard to wrap my head around the fact that there really was a little baby in there. There were many times that I wished I had x-ray vision so I could just look through my skin and see him there.

Finally, we met this special little boy from Heaven.

We didn't really sleep for the next 72 hours. I'm pretty sure that's why it's all fuzzy and seems like a dream. I still look at Duncan and say to Bob, "We have a baby!".

He is such a delight and so incredibly beautiful.

Well, there are the details and pictures to go with. If I think of any more details that I feel are necessary to complete our story I will add later, but for now this is it!
