We kicked off the month with a spur of the moment photo shoot
of the boys in their personalized jackets.
Legos and underwear...a usual theme for these parts.
We took a trip to the cannery!
I have been waiting for this for a long time...call me a nerd but I was so happy to be there.
The boys were pretty happy too.
Our marble run made with odds and ends.
Those marbles have made for some great entertainment and there are countless ways to play with them.
Sometimes the boys will clear the train table of everything except marbles and just give every marble they can get their hands on a big swipe - sending them all ricocheting around the table.
It sounds like an intense hail storm upstairs but they love it!
Bobby and I made a twin sized bed for part of Duncan's birthday present.
We always enjoy doing projects together.
Working together, contributing ideas, and spending time in each other's company are just some of the pluses.

When Charlie gets old enough, the plan is to build a loft-style bunk bed for Duncan to transfer to.

We're going to have to find a different place for them to play once gardening season comes along.
For now, they love to dig and bring their cars out to experience the fun.
We have this book called, "50 Dangerous Things to Let Your Children Do"...
Hammering with a nail is one of them and boy was Duncan excited to get his hands on it all.
(He had seen this idea in the book).
The book even goes over the important things to know, how to do them, and the cautions to be aware of.
We're livin' on the edge here!
We had Joanne, Marse, and her kiddies come to town for a visit.
It was Duncan's birthday weekend so we hit up a fun place with inflatables (Duncan's request) and trampolines.

I made a quick birthday sign/banner which looked great on our plain-still-needs-to-be-decorated orange wall.
I call it the Vanna White style birthday banner.
Side note:
We asked Duncan what he wanted for his birthday dinner and without hesitation he answered, "Steak".
He's our boy for sure!

Duncan could not wait to get out his new lego set and start putting it together.
A friendly Police Pilot made for good company.
We gave Duncan a big book of mazes. He has an amazing knack for them so it's fun to watch him work through each one.
We also received a fun package from our Maryland cousins: Little Livy made a special one-of-a-kind puzzle for Duncan and Kylee and Cody made some awesome drawings and colorings.
We also gave Duncan a few books (I just can't help myself) and some roller skates ($4 at the thrift store!).
They were just his size and he had mentioned a few months back that he wanted some roller skates.
Grandpa and Grandma sent some fun things as well: a Super Mario Jacket (which is a favorite), fun bed sheets to go along with his new bed, and a Rescue Bots memory game.

These were the Valentine's Duncan took to Preschool.
Charlie enjoyed Duncan's V-Day paper sweat band(?) he made at preschool.

This was another birthday gift from Duncan which I may or may not have been wanting myself.
We enjoy getting these out every once and awhile...they are basically anything-goes puzzle pieces.
Valentine's at the Rich household:
Bobby got me some cheerful yellow and white flowers and a Symphony candy bar which was enjoyed by all ;)
We got the boys a cute book called, "What Brothers Do Best".

Bobby was in charge of Valentines so he had us all hop in the car and head to Camel's Back Park.
We hadn't been there before so it was great to check out.

This little boy has picked up riding a bike with training wheels and can be heard happily singing as he pedals around and around the back patio.

Duncan was invited to a joint sister's birthday party for some girls in our ward.
He was nervous about trying out this rope swing but once he felt confident about trying it that's all he wanted to do.
I was asked to help and serve food for the Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet.
They also invited the rest of the family which was fun for the boys to get to be a part of.
The theme was "Under Construction"

I was sort of confused where that came from, thinking maybe he was referring to a ballerina or something.
Then I remembered that the night before we were looking up YouTube videos for roller skating and came across a video from a Roller Skating Nationals event (no joke).
Which is essentially like ice skating (outfits, techniques, and all!) only with a gymnasium floor and roller skates.
Then it all made sense.
