A tropical getaway in February - posted by the Mr.

Here is little Duncan catching some rays on his billibed. He had jaundice so the home care people brought it out to our apartment, and that's where he's been spending most of his days. Kind of a bummer if you like to be comfortable, but his billirubin levels decreased and his weight has come up and we are happy campers.

Here he is on our first night home with his kung fu baby grip action all over his binky. I think this might be his most comfortable position.

I decided to put this picture up because there are no pics of me with Duncan yet, and also I think Sara might murder me if I posted one of her at the hospital.

For unto us a child is given! - posted by the Mr.

For on this day in the city of Salted Lake is born unto us a man child and his name she be called Duncan James Rich, and he shall weigh 6 lbs 6 oz, and shall measure 21 inches. Any way, you get the picture, Sara and I are proud to announce our new addition that came at 5:30 this morning, and we are even more pleased that he is doing great, looking great, and he probably feels kind of great, at least I think he does. Any way, I won't get into the nitty gritty details of the process, if you want to know you can ask us in person, but until then, here is some baby eye candy for your viewing pleasure.

What Have We Been Up To? - posted by the Mrs.

Well, I figured it was time for another post. You know it's time when you hope for more comments on your post and day after day that number stays the same. Time to throw out fresh bait!

No new baby yet...although I do think it's coming up quite soon! Until then we'll just keep doing what we're doing.

Bobby has been playing on his indoor soccer league. I love to watch him play and be his #1 fan and cheerleader. I'm not the typical looking cheerleader that's for sure, there's no way anyone would catch me in a short skirt and hoppin' around. I'm really good at sitting and occasionally jumping (in slow motion of course). My attire consists of pajama pants and t-shirts...the best outfits made for mankind in my opinion.
Bobby is so good at putting his mind to something he is interested in and taking off. One of his New Year's resolutions was to pick up the guitar again. So, we brought my guitar home from my parent's house that has been collecting dust for a few years and he has learned 4-5 songs already. He learns songs that he likes, hymns, and anything else that crosses his path. That's how he's been with this indoor soccer thing. It's his first time being on an organized team and he dives into it each game or practice time he gets.
I have been busy trying to get myself, our apartment, and our lives ready for this bundle of joy that loves to kick the right side of my ribcage. He has gotten so good at that...he must take after his dad with that whole "getting-good-at-what-you-put-your-mind-to" thing. I feel like I've been in the Super Nesting Instinct Mode for a solid 3 weeks and counting, with the occasional Sleepy Nap Mode catching my attention here and there. I'm sure this comes as a surprise to all my family members and friends but I don't take naps all day everyday. Though I probably could very easily if I wasn't feeling this press for time to get ready for a baby. I must say that I do have quite the knack for naps.
With my time I have been baking homemade bread and cookies, making freezer meals and storing them in the newly organized freezer (that was scary to go through), and washing clothes and rearranging our storage/baby stuff to work together. When Bobby's been here we have made homemade tortillas and bagels (shout out to the Cramers for the ideas!) that have been pretty darn good. The bagels didn't turn out quite right the first time but I'm not afraid to try again. I have a love for food and even more so for homemade goodness. I want our family to have homemade goodness to grow up on and have fond memories of. Food brings people together as I always say...at least it brings me! I want to master the techniques and art of baking and cooking.
That's been the great extent of my days besides going to the gym with Bobby 2-3 times a week, having Young Women's activities, reading all kinds of materials, getting our emergency essentials for our apartment and car in order, and elevating these water retaining ankles every now and again.

Of course there are always those little projects that make a forever long list. I did finally get my cute maternity pants hemmed after owning them for 4 months, just in time to have the baby. I need to transfer my Bamboo plant into a not-decomposing pot, get those baby shower thank you's written (wink wink Anna), and the list goes on. Does anyone else feel like they have that never ending list with contents that pop up in your mind all the time saying, "I'm still heeeeeeere"? It's ok, it's what keeps me busy everyday so I'm never bored. :)

Bobby is putting on his sweet soccer moves here...

This is our "Tree of Dryff" that we concocted out of pvc piping and some other odds and ends that we found at Home Depot. It cost us a whole $26 dollars I think?! It dries our clothes wonderfully and is a lot cheaper than buying a dryer and then paying the fee monthly to have it set up to work in our apartment. This is the first batch of baby stuff I washed for the little guy. It is so fun to see little clothes hanging on those rods.

This is the poster I made for our New Beginnings program for Young Womens. I haven't made a poster for awhile nor have a done any painting in awhile so I enjoyed this project. It was kind of therapeutic.

Sugar Cookies!!

Seen here is my 1st attempt at homemade bread with my new BOSCH and no your eyes do not deceive you, the loaves have morphed together. In my defense, the recipe did not tell me how many loaves it would make. So I guessed 2...and guessed wrong. So we fixed the problem by purchasing more loaf pans and now we get 4 beautiful loaves of bread.

Imagine this delicately sliced and toasted with soft butter and homemade strawberry jam spread on top. Mmmmm
