Our local pool has a family night twice a week so we grabbed our swimwear and headed over to check it out. It was an extremely hot day that day so of course the pool was overflowing with kids of all ages eager to cool off.
It was fun to get those boys playing in the water. Thank goodness for closing time, otherwise I don't know how we would have convinced Duncan it was time to go.

I found some silly string at the Dollar Store and decided we'd have a little silly string fight after FHE.
It was all fun and games until we quickly ran out.
Duncan managed pretty well with his cast though.

I made Duncan a sticker chart for "Family Jobs" as we call them, and other necessary jobs. It was amazing how much it relieved us from having to continually remind him and coax him.
He was all about it.
We filled up two of these babies but never got around to making another one...time to get that going again.
Out of the 4 sunflowers we planted only one of them survived to mature adulthood.
I looked up how to harvest them and Duncan and I spent a whole morning seeding the head, soaking the seeds, and drying them out, only to end up cooking them too long in the oven and making charred seeds.
For the record You Tube, 40 minutes is way too long to bake these!
This is Duncan in our sketchy hotel that we stayed in on the way to Utah. It's weird how ALL the hotels and motels in Winnemucca Nevada get booked on a weeknight every time we go through there.
We told the hotel manager that we didn't think our room had been cleaned (the hairs in the bathroom sink and shower kind of gave it away) but he told us it had.
Oh well, it was a place to rest our head for a few hours.
We took advantage of the rare opportunity of having us all together and took a much needed family picture.
Our photographer went into labor the night before (our cousin) so Steve took the wheel and did these pictures all by himself. Pretty talented considering he was also in the picture on this one!

While waiting for everyone else to finish doing pictures, Bobby, Tyler, and I headed back to the car where we loaded up the kids, blasted the heat and watched Laurie Berkner Band. We ended up getting to be the fun car and having all the kids with us the rest of the time. It was good to have the cousins together.

Grandpa hosted a backyard campout for the older kids. Needless to say he didn't sleep much that night but the kids had so much fun. Can you tell? He even did a repeat campout the next night just to soak up the time with the grandkids.
June was great but busy!
