Charlie's Birthday happens on the very first day of the month, so we started off with a Bang!
Charlie loved his birthday and getting to blow out a candle and Duncan was a great helper when it came to opening presents. ;)

Duncan had a Preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch and I signed up to help.
Duncan loved the ultimate slide, picking out his very own pumpkin to take home, the corn maze, the hay ride, and playing in the massive life-size sensory bin of corn kernels.
Charlie and I had a good time being a part of it and watching Duncan beam with excitement.
Carrots and all smiles...keep up that love for veggies boys!
Bobby and I went out on a fun date to watch Meet the Mormons...opening night!
While I would say that we do have a pretty good idea of who Mormons are, it was such an inspiring movie to see people who have come to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ and not just accepted it but have let it become who they are. These are everyday people who have done amazing things simply because they love the Savior.
We highly recommend watching it when you get the chance!

We had my Dad, my two younger sisters and their husbands come to town and visit us.
It was a short but sweet visit.
Tyler and Brooke got to add to their #favoriteauntanduncletour2014,
we got to meet Baby Simon for the first time (who is adorable), and enjoy spending time together.
We played at the park, ate yummy food, spent time in the backyard playing, and played a lot of...
Nerf Wars.
Duncan loved the ongoing battle that went on in the upstairs bonus room.
There were some pretty amazing shots that made the history books.

Duncan was wearing sunglasses for his eye protection and got hit smack dab on the side of his glasses...and stuck there (bottom right)

What's funny is Duncan and Charlie pretty much wondered around the room freely while nerf darts zoomed past from unseen rivals.

These boys love to run around in their "unders" in the morning or evening when clothes get switched.

We had some great leaf playing before it got cold.
The boys enjoyed digging like dogs in the leaves, making leaf angels, and throwing them all over the place.

Duncan learned to ride his bike without training wheels!
We watched a few Dew Tour bike and skateboard youtube videos and Duncan was ready to go for it.
Two days of test-runs with us holding his seat and he was off.
He loved riding his bike before but now he's got a whole new love for it.
We've since been on a family bike ride with Duncan riding his own two-wheeler. It is such a good feeling to see our children progress in their abilities.

Family Night Activity:
Carving Duncan's Preschool pumpkin and the pumpkins that we grew in our own garden.
We turned up the dancing music and had a blast.
Halloween Day:
Free Krispie Kremes for dressing up - woot woot!
and
visiting Dad at work - woot woot!
We followed up with some Trick or Treating with the neighbor boys that evening.
(We love going through our children's candy after they go to bed - anyone else want to fess up?!)
The Primary was in charge of the Halloween Party this year.
More Krispy Kremes but on a string! Plus, a Bean Bag Toss game, face painting, a costume parade, tasty soup, fun with friends, and good times.

We hadn't gotten around to unpacking our Book of Mormon Stories since we had moved in, so we were reading the Book of Mormon exclusively, as a family. One evening, Duncan requested that we get out our Book of Mormon Stories again because, he said, "It helps me remember what they did while I was still in Heaven."

Trying to think of fun things to do while Bobby was at a Young Men's activity, I put on the youtube Dew Tour Finals for the boys and I to watch. Whilst watching the first video of skateboarding Charlie said with a mesmerized stare,
"This is awesome."
