We're back!...
in the habit of making bread again that is.
I was in the process of picking out bread at the grocery store and Duncan lovingly lectured me with these words, "Mom, it's cheaper and healthier to make our own bread"
Side note: we also canned our own chicken breasts! I had never used a pressure cooker before but borrowed my friends and then we purchased a bulk package of 40 lbs. of chicken! It only took 3 straight days to accomplish it all! :)
We had an intense snow storm for two days straight in November.
It got down to 2 degrees during the day, snowed 8 inches, and helped cause over 200 crashes and slide-offs in Boise alone.
Apparently, it hadn't snowed that much in that little of time during the month of November for 80 years -
record breaker!
The storm caught us off guard in that we hadn't done our irrigation sprinkler blow out yet...
so, hopefully we don't have a bunch of broken pipes in the spring.
The boys sure loved it though, we never even got close to this kind of weather where we were at in California.

We can't get out to the parking lot from Fred Meyer without passing the oversized stuffed animals, so we always plan to spend a few minutes here and then say good bye.
We started having family work-out sessions in our upstairs room.
We get the upbeat music going and go for it.
We've had 3 or 4 of these which really works well for Bobby and I since it combines exercising and spending time together as a family.
Naptime activity: Strawberry Jam...sort of.
I forgot to half all of the recipe so we ended up with more of a Strawberry Syrup.
Heading to Utah for Thanksgiving
The early morning drive had us heading straight into the sunrise, hence the sporting of shades.
On the way to Salt Lake we stopped by my Grandparent's house in Clearfield. They fed us a yummy kid-friendly lunch of pizza and then my Grandpa pulled out his pictures from World War II and gave Duncan some kid-friendly history about his part in the war.
Duncan loved it.

Once we got to Salt Lake the boys forgot all about the last 5+ hours of riding in the car and hopped right into Grandpa's cool car.
Thanksgiving day we enjoyed some fresh air at the park.

Honey had a gingerbread decorating kit for each family to put together one of the evenings.
Everyone had a good time munching, designing, and chatting.
Before we left Salt Lake we made sure to stop by Poppy's and little Jack's place.
