Our spontaneous trip to Yosemite! - Posted by the Mrs.

Bobby and I decided last minute to take advantage of a day off of work that he had and spend it in Yosemite!

We hadn't ever been before and figured if we didn't go then that we might not get another chance before we left California...which is what ended up happening.

Grandpa had just finished a super busy crazy tax season and decided last minute to join our spontaneous trip!

We only spent half of a day there since we needed to head back for work the next day but we all really enjoyed the beauty that was all around.

This is when we first arrived in the park.

The boys thoroughly enjoyed the rock climbing/snack break at the falls.

After that, we wandered around Cook's Meadow Loop

It was at this point that Duncan decided he would like a fishing pole for his 5 year old birthday. :)

It was also about this time that we shed a few layers and Duncan insisted on wearing his long underwear instead of his jeans. Bobby called them his Euro-pants. He was pretty hip looking.

Duncan decided that he wanted to go touch the mountain (Half Dome).

"Come on guys, let's go" were his words.

He was pretty bummed when we broke the news that we wouldn't be making the two day trek.

We were super hungry for dinner and wanted to stop at a joint to to eat at on our way home. We came to the town of Copperopolis, CA. The only establishment we could find to be open was this BBQ restaurant but what's odd was that the whole town was vacant except for the people inside the restaurant. 

A ghost town!
